Särith

Särith is an endless shooter which was cobbled together in the span of a month with no programming experience and very little art/writing experience. The game itself is a bit more hectic it's just that whenever i take a screenshot it picks the most uneventful frames possible.

The title of the game is not a real word, I just thought Särith sounded cool lol. It was originally the name of a music track but that got scrapped because my microphone sucks and can't record metal. so i had to record a bunch of improvised guitar ambience instead. Read the manual included with the game for more about that.

Särith takes place in the Stormeye Islands, a country founded to maintain a sense of normality in a world where magic exists. Magic is strictly outlawed there and they rely on conventional technology to survive.

 The main character of the game, Ellie is a member of the Stormeye Navy and during the game she shoots down magical creatures approaching the ship she's stationed on. 

There is more lore & development info in the manual, I don't want this page to be too long so read that instead. All I'll say here is that microphones that clip audio are the worst thing to ever exist and they ruined this game's soundtrack.

My goal with Särith was to make the game within 2024, the game was published around 11:20-ish in my timezone (Sweden), so I just barely made it.
